for instructions on identifying and updating your driversIf there is no sound at all in the game, or the sound is distorted, there is likely a miscommunication in the hardware itself. There are many settings that can complicate the use of sound on your system.
Check the volume on your speakers to make sure they are set to an audible level
Check the connections from you speakers to both the computer and a power source
Check the volume settings on your computer to make sure they are set to an audible level
Locate the speaker icon for volume next to the clock on the taskbar.
Right-click on the icon and choose Open Volume Control
Make sure that none of the settings are muted.
You may want to set all the of the sliders to full volume until the issue is resolved (at which point you can adjust the sliders to your personal preferences)
Make sure that you have a sound card not only installed, but recognized by the DirectX Diagnostic Tool
